The climate at the Costa da Prata is very mild all year long. Summer will be reasonably warm and dry. During winter it will be mild. In the morning you can have somse fog in Aljubarrota. Especially in the mountains you will expierience this phenomena, no worries, it will quickly disappear after some time. If you plan to go to the beach, you can expect more wind, natural, Costa da Prata has the best surfing beaches in Portugal.
The quality of healthcare in Portugal is quite good since things improved in the last few years. This does not mean that Portuguese healthcare is on the same level as in the most Western European countries.
European Health Insurance card
It is highly recommended to ask this insurance card at your local Social Security-office. It will guarantee you proper medical assistance during your stay in Portugal. You can count on identical prices then in your home country and of course with the same refund at home.

Portuguese pharmacies are generally opened from 9 am till 1 pm and from 3 pm till 7 pm whole week. During weekends they will be opened from 9 am till 1 pm. There is also a 24h surveillance pharmacy, its address will be mentioned at each pharmacy in Portugal.

Portugal is situated in South West Europ. It is the Western part of the Iberian Peninsula. There is only one border with Spain, 1.214 km at the East and North-side.

Or from the source of river Neiva leaving Portugal in Miranda do Douro. 11,60% of the territory is leveled above 700m above sealevel. 13,10% is under 200m high, especially south of river Taag and is ca 61,50% of the Portuguese territory.

Most of the Portuguese highways have electronic toll; known as “Portagem”. You can hire a Via Verde device to pay the toll on highways, but also at bridges in Lisboa and even to park your car. Everything can be paid cash or by creditcard, just like you do for your rentalcar payment and warranty.
